Concert ticket stubs, like a lot of entertainment memoribillia, have recently become more collectible. The popularity of collecting concert ticket stubs has grown in the recent years. This is especially true of rock and roll concert ticket stubs from the 1960s and 1970s. Like concert posters, rock and roll concert ticket stubs provide dated memoribillia related to a specific event and a specific musicians who were at the event. However, concert ticket stubs lack the graphic art that makes collecting concert posters and album covers so popular. When collected together (both concert posters and concert ticket stubs) they can make a very nice decorative collectible for displaying on the wall of your office or home.

One of the most interesting collectibles is the concert poster.  At any given week end there are a number of concerts going on in the world so there are many concert posters that could be collected.   Orginally the concert poster was never met to be a collectible so most are destoryed by people or weather and this makes vintage concert posters more difficult to collect.  The other interesting aspect of collecting concert posters is the beautiful graphic designs that are found on many concert posters.

The Dark Side of the Moon Record Album Cover – Pink Floyd

More than seventy years again a young man named Alex Steinweiss came up with the idea of using art on the cover of a record to encourage more sales and thus became the Father of the Record Album Cover.    Since then record album covers have continued to evolve and in the late 1960s and early 1970s  album covers became a whole new art medium thanks to such creative designers such as Storm Thorgerson and Aubrey Powell, who were responsible for designing many of the greatest album covers, including Pink Floyd’s The Dark Side of the Moon.  The art work used on some record albums has been so stunning that it has driven many to collect old record album covers.  Others have collected record album covers because some of the art used was so campy that it is now considered amusing.  Whatever your reason, collecting record album covers can be an enjoyable hobby.

With the rapid changes in music recording media the vinyl record album looked to be going the way of the dinosaurs, but interest in vinyl has been reignited and this is at least partly because of our love affair with the modern record album cover.  Vintage record albums are still around and can be found in thrift stores, yard sales and eBay making it a treasure hunt to search for new additions to your record album collection.  Record album covers can be framed and proudly displayed fin the home or the office which increases the enjoyment that they bring the collector.  While not as widespread as coin collecting or stamp collecting, album cover collecting has many of the same attributes and is well on its way to becoming a very popular activity.
